Chippewa County Rural Heritage Meetings

Tom Schindler, President of the Board for Chippewa County Rural Heritage, called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm on Sunday March 28, 2010 at Valley Tavern 14515 State Highway 40 Bloomer, WI.  Members of the board present were: Tom Schindler-President, Gerald Eder-Vice-President, Tom Short-Treasurer, and Victoria Trinko-Secretary.  Advisory Board: David Kelm Sr. [at 7:16 pm], Lyle Prince, Sonny Urban,  Willie & Rose Sundstrom, Rich Suvada, and Paul Krumenauer.   Other participants- Jana Prince, Harry Prince.
Tom Short made a motion to approve and place on file the February 28, 2010 minutes.  Rich Suvada seconded the motion. The motion carried 11-0.  
TREASURER’S REPORT:    Sonny Urban made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Jerry Eder seconded the motion.  The motion carried 12-0. 
HATS, BUTTONS, RIBBONS: The choice for 2010 button was with the red lettering and added 9th to the button.  Tom Schindler will order 6 dozen hats.  Rose Sundstrom will check pricing of ribbons at Blue Ribbon & Plastic Company. 
PANCAKE BREAKFAST:   The sausage has been ordered from Denny Schindler; plates and applesauce from Stacy Pecha; there are ample forks/knives; Jana will pick up cups/napkins at the Peoples State Bank; the secretary will put the article with picture in the Bloomer Advance for two weeks.  Fliers have been distributed.
BUSINESS CARD:  Paul Krumenauer made a sample of the business card and will try to enlarge the logo.
SPONSERSHIPS:  We will talk with Earl Hassemer about designating levels of sponsorship.  Vicky Trinko will make a list of potential sponsors as a guideline for people to contact for sponsorship.
SPRING EVENT:  The tent, popcorn popper, lights, sidewalls, 6 tables, 48 chairs have been reserved.  Setup will be on May 21st and take down on May 24th.  We will call about renewing the insurance which terminates in May.  Jerry Eder will check Howie Moe about insurance.  There will be changes made to the flier before placing it on the website or printing.  An application for an operators license and picnic license will be placed on the Town of Cooks Valley April agenda.  Ole Olson’s band has been booked for Saturday May 22nd from 7-11 pm.  John Sykora will play on Sunday afternoon.  Vicky Trinko will make an agenda of events and time slots for events on Saturday and Sunday to hand out to participants.  The sawmill will operated on Saturday pm, Sunday am & Sunday pm.  A penny hunt will follow the sawing.  Jana Prince will check on plastic signs to place at intersections.    

FUTURE ITEMS & AGENDA:

Next meeting will be April 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Valley Tavern, following the pancake breakfast.

Tom Short made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 pm.   Rose Sundstrom seconded the motion.  The motion carried 12-0.
