Residential High-speed Internet  Service

The cost for residential high speed internet access is $39.95 per month. You will also need an DSL modem. We can lease you one for $9.95 per month or you can purchase one from us for $124.99. Our current series of modems provide 4 ports for computer connections and are digital video ready. We only support what we install or sell. If you lease one from us you will need to supply a computer surge protector. Please be aware the technology that we deploy may change over time and that if you purchase your own modem, it is your responsibility to maintain compatibility with our network. Installation charges are currently waived.

Business DSL Service

The cost for business high speed internet access begins at $59.95 per month and varies with the type of speed and features that you require. Please contact us for a detailed price quote.

Details

The basic speed is set for 512K upstream and 1,500K downstream. Much higher speeds are available (contact our office for details). Please be aware that each circuit leaving the Bloomer Telephone Co. is a point to point circuit, not a public broadcast ring like cable modems. That means as the cable modems load up with traffic the network slows down, and as the DSL loads up on your LAN, it will only be your own network, not everyone else. Each computer needs a Network Interface Card (10BaseT, 10/100 BaseT or 10/100/1000 BaseT). You will also be in a private network of your own. You will get one public IP address. If you need more there is an additional cost of $2.50 per IP address. This is all done on the same phone line that you have now (you can surf the internet and talk on your phone at the same time).
